The pumpkins in the window box drew my attention to this house, and then I noticed the sign with a quote from Paul Wellstone.
In our present political climate, rational thinking and calmer dialogue would help us address the real needs of our communities
and the world rather than negative messages of fear, suspicion, and hate.

Local Powderhorn resident and artist, Malia Burkhart, has been painting a mural of the prairie on her front porch over the past few days.
She wants her porch to be a representation of what existed in this area before Minneapolis. Many have walked past and commented,
or stopped to talk with Malia. One neighbor even expressed, "Your front porch makes my day. Everyday."
Backyards in Powderhorn are aflutter with activity. Squirrels are ravenously hunting for anything edible; adults are raking leaves for children to jump into; and birds are taking advantage of the last days of unfrozen bird baths available to them. I watched as a flock of year-old Cedar Waxwings (you can tell their age because they do not have the tell-tale red on their wings) and a flock of house sparrows shared this bathing space with one another. A juvenile Cardinal came and splashed around with them, too.
OK, I spent a couple of hours watching about a dozen species of birds in the early afternoon. We have an amazing variety of birds in Minneapolis. To see some of the other species I caught with my camera today, please check out the poho365 flickr page.

While Earl C. Joseph, Sr still lived on St. Paul's Summit Av, we both invited our daughters to share their views about the Future of Art Futures during 2003. Malia's passion was "CommUNITY Building through Story-Telling" that may have inspired George Kubik's StoryTech publication ...
By adapting these Future Thought (Leadershhip Learning Collaboratory) paradigms as sequels to the USNPS Lewis & Clark Bicentennial commemoration, Malia inspired my I co-creating a KAWS-KBS/KELP-KVHAdventurng "facilltated thinking environment" that empowers Kaw Valley Heritage AGR-iTourism chartered by USNPS as Freedom's Frontier National Heritage Area (FFNHA) ...
We still benchmarking MentrorshipART or Peace (MAoP) paradigms between, Powderhorn Park (MN) and Dragonfly County (KS).
