Summary of 09/29/2007 Peace Sig meeting

1. Immediate Pullout (6- 12 months) - 5 votes

2. Iraq Study Group Plan- limited Pullout & Diplomatic Solution (12 - 24 months) - 0 votes

3. No Pullout (Will take 10-20 years to achieve peace ) - 4 votes

4. Create UN based multilateral negotiations for settlement

5. Divide Iraq into 3 countries...Kurdistan, "Sunniland" and "Shialand".

6. Involve Iran (and Syria, Saudi Arabia) in negotiations.

7. Form provincial reconstruction teams to promote political and economic development in promising regions of Iraq using US & Iraqi funds.

Other Aspects of Problem

1. Definition of "Winning War Against Terrorism".

2. What should be roles of nearby countries e.g. Pakistan, Russia, Turkey, Isreal...etc

3. Is the current policy to defer long term solutions to next administration?
