Mind Set! – Reset your thinking, and see the future, copyright 2006

Megatrends author John Naisbitt has written a manual for innovation in the 21st century. You bring your ambition and field of interest; he provides a context to prosper in terms of “mindsets” and “pictures.”

Naisbitt discerns eleven mindsets you can use to sustain your orientation like the ancients used the stars. Then you’ll need 5 pictures to guide your ambitions: a vision of America’s decline in literacy; how nation-states and their economic indices are undermined by global economics; the effects of what’s happening in Europe; the effects of rapid growth in China, and some advice on the Next Big Thing.

He writes of success American style. He accepts that existing culture can’t be changed and believes that knowledge and willpower can overcome inner obstacles such as social prejudices and parental biases.

After presenting Naisbitt’s views, a few assumptions are questioned to secure what Naisbitt himself must feel is missing, as he closes with, “Whatever the future holds, it will be worth nothing if there is no joy.”
